Description
Beautiful fall foliage in Texas is a hit or miss proposition. In some years the colors rival the autumn leaves of New England. In others, fall passes with only a hint of color. Colorful fall leaves in Texas usually result from a wetter than normal growing season followed by a dry autumn months. Given the long (some say "never ending") summers in Texas, fall colors often don't appear until November and can last well into December.
Here, a forest of maples and oaks provide a backdrop of lush green, red and yellow behind a footbridge along the shores of Cedar Creek Lake in Kaufman County, Texas.
