Description
Colorful oil and water bubbles become imaginary white sand islands in a tropical blue and turquoise green abstract sea.
Oil and water bubble photographs caught my attention one day and I was instantly fascinated. They were beautiful in their simplicity and so unique! I HAD to try this for myself.
It took about 30 seconds to realize oil and water bubble photography was anything
but "simple." I followed online tutorials, tried different oil and water recipes and made multiple attempts at capturing an image that resembled what I'd seen online. The only thing I managed to create was a mess. Then one day, it happened. I started to capture actual well defined oil and water bubbles. In time, I finally "got it" and started to get some keepers.
I absolutely love oil and water bubble abstract photography. You simply never know what
kind of image you'll come away with. This was one of my first oil and water "keepers."
The minute I saw it, I felt like I was looking down on a tropical barrier reef somewhere in a vast blue-green ocean. Hence the title: "On An Island" named after the 2006 album of the same name by guitarist David Gilmour best known for being a member of Pink Floyd.
