Description
A Waxing Gibbous photographed through a telescope shines brightly in the night sky above rural Indiana on a crisp October evening.
"Waxing" refers to the phase when light illuminating the moon is increasing. IE, when the moon is on it's way to becoming full. The term "Gibbous" refers to the moon while it is between it's half moon and full moon phase. So, "waxing gibbous" is the official description for, "The moon is almost full."
